A WEB COMIC
*my first real attempt at sequential art - comic writing learning curve for your amusement and mine. Draw what you know they said, so I did.
MMM! #1
This is a near as true story about a cat his human and her fish.
MMM Christmas #2
Merlin shines a light.
MMM Detective #3
The point here is that he likes the jelly part best and he comes back for the meat later like all discerning cats.
MMM A Discovery #4
So without further ado we move into the drama beginning of course with Mimi the slightly unusual fish.
MMM Escape #5
We are lucky enough to get the inside story and things inside are not all that they seem from outside of the bowl. Maybe Geoff was wise.
MMM Investigation #6
Merlin decides to follow up on his gut feeling, after all - it is his only lead. (He can't read 'fish' phonetics, and I reckon the pebbles have been moved.)
What does he see that makes him so sure he is right!? Find out in part 7 as Merlin takes a bath (it helps him think apparently).
MMM Further Investigation #7
And now we discover another side to our cheeky cat - his magical side for (I might have mentioned before) he has special powers! A sensitivity to spirits and a love of justice no less! And perhaps most useful of all an understanding of what is in his power to change and what is not. Whether his idea for what to do is angelic or not his intentions are good! Judge for yourself but I love my cat. (TAKEN FROM AN INTERVIEW WITH Me).
MMM Research #8
Because although Merlin is cool with Angelic voices he is also a scientific cat with skills and a need to know exactly what he is dealing with here. Meanwhile Mimi's condition worsens. She needs more brainz soon or she might get desperate and flip out. She needs serious existential help to avoid the veritable doom she created for herself by trading her free-will and God knows what else for an apparently perpetual but un-dead-life.
MMM Feeding Time #9
Mimi wants your brainz Merlin RUN!! But Merlin needs his Grey matter to work out what to do!
MMM Metamorphosis #10
Mimi's dreams come true! Unfortunately many mouses are hunted and die horribly and are then mutilated (but it's for a good cause).
Poor Merlin it seems our hero has been foiled by quite nauseating zombie already deadness but he still hasn't tried the angelic (or internet) advice! Plus he wasn't wrong as now they can't even spit pebbles they are so small. They are almost cute though I wouldn't put my paw in.
MMM A Reckoning #11
Merlin's in a fat mood but Geoff remembers his friend.
MMM Maybe #11.1
A healthy little thought easily overlooked by a hungry hoarde of mini Mimis.
MMM Pet shop #12
Can be dangerous places.
MMM Meanwhile (in the last few seconds) #13
Something AWFUL FUNKY is going on in panel 2.
MMM Fire! #14
There is always a lot going on isn't there? I mean, Me has been so busy in love of late that she didn't even notice Mimi's transformation, just as well really given the fact that the flat nearly caught on fire and the bowl just happens to be there at the time.
So Me gets a new living room on her insurance, and unbeknownst to her is rescued from becoming a zombie by her hard working and loving cat! Whilst in the mystical realms the eternal battle rages on and it looks like Most-of-the-Mimi's have become BBQ fish snacks, never to nom again.
MMM The Accounts #14
Speak for themselves.
MMM Love #15
So, as our story draws to a close it might be time to see how the household is getting on without the joys of a zombie fish! As you can see Me and her love are just relaxing whilst Merlin is becoming known throughout the land as a Zombie Lord which is a bit like a Dragon Lord but not quite as cool. In fact he has so much business he has taken on a young apprentice and begun to pass on his unique perspective.
He's even on Tee shirts these days you know.

Epilogue:
The real life counterparts in this story are not actually vegetarians. However, they do fully subscribe to the view that all living things should be treated with respect. The fire with the curtain did actually happen and a fish bowl full of water was used to douse it, though no fish were harmed. I did once find one of my fish mysteriously uneaten on the kitchen floor whilst the other seemed fine. I do not believe it was Merlin to this day not least because I had had the fish for some time. My cat does scratch my face if I don't get up in the morning. And there really is/was a 'zombie' who likes to eat brains, it just isn't/wasn't a fish. Lastly this story is dedicated to that fire starting school of angel-fish who I will always remember and thank sincerely for their assistance.
